Ultraviolet Water Sterilisers

Ultraviolet light water purifiers & UV sterilisers other wise known as UV systems are designed to kill micro-organisms such as bacteria in the water supply. Ultraviolet water sterilisation does not use any chemicals so it will not leave residue or add taste to the water and is harmless to untargeted animals and plants. UV water sterilisers can be used for killing pathogens in drinking water, swimming pools, fish ponds &.aquariums.
A germicidal ultra violet lamp is encased in a stainless steel chamber the lamp is powered by a separate control box. The germicidal ultraviolet lamp gives off strong UV rays that kill the waterborne bacteria as the water passes through the UV chamber.
The water should be clear before prior to entering the ultraviolet chamber as this will give the ultraviolet rays maximum penetration. We recommend that a pre-filter is fitted to the inlet of the UV steriliser to stop any particles entering the UV chamber that may cause a shadowing from the UV rays.
UV water sterilisers are governed by the flow rate of water, this is the maximum speed that the water can pass through the UV chamber to allow enough time for the germicidal rays to kill the pathogens.
All of our domestic and commercial ultraviolet water sterilisers are WRAS approved.
When choosing a water sterilisation system the maximum flow rate of water that is going to be used at any one point should be taken into account.
