2 prong 55-watt ultra violet lamp for killing bacteria. This lamp should be replaced every 6 months. Even though the lamp will still be lit it looses strength after time and will not be as efficient.
How It Works
The UV lamp is fitted inside a quartz tube, which is fitted in the middle of a UV chamber. Water goes into the UV chamber and surrounds the ultra violet lamp. The UV lamp gives off strong Ultra violet rays. These strong rays kill bacteria in the water.
The water should be clear with no particles before going into the UV housing because particles in the water can cause a shadow which prevents the ultra violet rays reaching the bacteria to kill it. If there is sediment in the water we suggest a pre-filter (sediment filter) should be fitted before the ultra violet sterilisation system for the best results.
